It took a couple of days for it to get to the repair depot from NY because when I finally talked to someone they said that they had my MacBook for 11 days. The lady I talked to bumped my repair up to Express for free. That happened on Friday, August It was at my door at am Monday, August That was my experience with repair, but I have read that people have had their MacBooks repaired and shipped back out to them on the same day.

That gave them a total of only 3 days without their MacBook. Reply Helpful 1 Thread reply - more options Link to this Post. It's been working fine ever since. You may be getting a new logic board. That's where they sent my MacBook at least. I was without my MacBook for 15 days. When I called Apple Care, the recording would say that my repair was on hold awaiting a needed part for repair. When I decided to wait 30 minutes to talk to someone, they said that they had my computer for 11 days that means it took about 2 days to get there and 2 more to get back.

If I hsce sny problems with unit I will update you all tomorrow but so far so good! Posted on May 6, PM. No, I understood and wanted to point out it was just a suggestion to compensate you. I think it is worth it to make your suggestion to Customer Service or try to work out something with them.

Understand that the virus situation has meant that items that used to be repaired in-store are now al mail-in service, so I think it reasonable to expect their mail-in system to take longer. Its just alittle frustrating because when I sent the device in it said the average time was 5 days including sending and receiving the device, they also said once the device is confirmed received it is an immediate one day overnight mail shipment.

I am an essential worker and require this device for my job so I just wasnt expecting a 2 week wait when their support website clearly says 5 days to and from. Well, you have to remember that these are extraordinary times and the pandemic has caused major havoc everywhere, so you cannot expect everything to be as it was.

Apple also no doubt wants their employees safe, so it is probably a reduced workforce. Everyone needs to exercise patience. May 5, PM in response to babowa In response to babowa.

I agree and affirm all of your statements since my store practices the same routine. But my point is, had I would have known it wouldve taken 2 weeks, I would have decided to choose an alternative repair option, use the functioning broken screen phone temporarily until a quicker solution was offered. The pandamic instructions on the phone from the apple repair tech was this is a very quick process, overnight shipping to us, overnight shipping back to you.

Takes usually less than 5 business days from start to finish to get your replacement. That is all I am saying. There are some very fragile connections to the screen that can get damaged if excessive pressure is applied to the back of the case, especially if it is on a concentrated pressure point.

While it might not crack the screen itself, it could damage connections that carry light to the screen, so you may see pixilation, fuzzy bars, lack of color in places, or total grey out when booting up your laptop. Replacing the screen itself is a pretty simple and quick procedure.

However, once the new screen is in place, there are some diagnostic tests that need to be run before the new screen will be fully functional.
