Future Business Leaders of America is the premier student business organization with a quarter million members and advisers in over 6, active middle school, high school, and college chapters worldwide. Its mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.
The theme for was "Connect. Jaylene was also recognized for completing the "America" award by completing all levels of the Business Achievement Awards BAA during her high school career.

As a result of the chapter's activity throughout the year in regard to membership growth, community service, competitions, and leadership involvement, the chapter was honored with a Gold Level Chapter of the Year award. Registration: a. Thirty-three members finished in the top five places in a variety of events, and 21 qualified for state competition. Monica Holland was elected as Vice President of Membership for the school year. Monica Holland was elected as the District 19 Vice President of Membership for the school year.
To qualify for state competition, the members had to place in the top five for online testing and top one for performance and production events. If students finish in the top two at the State Leadership Conference, they will have the opportunity to compete at the National Leadership Conference in Atlanta in June. North Central Missouri College assisted the event by the generous use of their facilities. Attending were total members, which included 39 members from our chapter. Members received information on how the games are run, how to care for the rides, and took a tour of their new haunted house, Blood on the Bayou.
For lunch, members received a free buffet and listened to various keynote speakers from the Departments of Security and Sales Management.
After lunch, the members were allowed to enjoy the rides but had to attend one session of their choice located throughout the park. The members also enjoyed the haunted houses when they opened later that night. Advisers Sondra Sturguess and Jenny Hughes accompanied the officers.
FBLA leaders from across the state participated in leadership training. During the sessions, students participated in team building activities, learned about leadership styles and techniques, and began planning for their chapter's activities during the upcoming school year.
The meetings on Monday were held at the Tulaske School of Business and the session on Tuesday was at the Stoney Creek hotel conference rooms. Some of the activities planned include: Meetings every 3rd Wednesday at p. Opportunities to help in the community are welcome. The theme for was "Step Up to the Challenge! Over 3, members and advisers representing chapters throughout the state met to elect state officers, participate in leadership and career workshops, and compete in the state leadership awards program.
At the awards ceremony, Savannah Sturguess received 3rd place in the Who's Who event. The chapter received the distinction of Silver Chapter due to its involvement in service projects, competitive events, and a variety of activities throughout the year.
The chapter received recognition for increasing its membership to 81 members. Performance events ranged from preplanned business presentations to analyzing case studies and presenting solutions on a variety of topics.
Forty-five members finished in the top five places in a variety of events, and 29 qualified for state competition. Jaylene Sturguess was elected as District 19 President and Caitlin Fechtig as Secretary for the school year. District 19 Officers were elected for the school year.
If students finish in the top two at the State Leadership Conference, they will have the opportunity to compete at the National Leadership Conference in Chicago in June. To help students gear up for district competition, guest speaker Maura Sturguess gave tips on presenting during performance events.
Maura is a sophomore at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar majoring in accounting and information management. Sixty-five people participated in the event which began and ended at the school. Children and adults completed the event, which made for a fun and healthy family experience. Participants "collected" colors along the course, celebrating the completion of the 5K by receiving the fourth color north of the old Jerry Litton Memorial Stadium.
