James Martin born 13 March is a Scottish film and television actor. He played Eric in BBC's Still Game, a situation-comedy television series, in which he was one of the few actors who was actually a senior citizen. Kiernan, who is 57, and year-old Hemphill first turned the adventures of Craiglang Septuagenarians Jack and Victor and their pensioner friends into a TV sitcom in , when Hemphill was in his early 30s.
Still Game premiered in and game to an end in after actor Ford Kieran and Greg Hemphill fell out. The comedy duo did not speak for seven years but managed to get their friendship back on track. The items in most of the sets other than the Clansman and Harrid's store comprised of vintage items bought from second-hand stores, auction houses and charity shops as it was impossible to get vintage style furniture other than having it recreated.
Just before the fifth series started filming, a pest control team had to be called in to the studios as rats had infested Navid's shop set. The alarm was raised after Jane McCarry who plays Isa found a dead rat on the set. Throughout the series, a brand of lager called "Fusilier", not a real-life brand , pops up in various places including The Clansman and Navid's convenience store.
This is a reference to Chewin' the Fat which ran a series of 'fake' commercials for the fictional beer under the tagline 'It's never too early for a Fusilier'. The sketch comprised of Jack, Victor, Winston and Tam sitting in their favorite pub singing inappropriate songs. They also had occasional sitcom-like sketches too.
The word "Fuck" is blocked out four times throughout the series. Winston saying it to Stevie at the bookies in "Cairds" S3E3. Victor to Isa in the lift in "Wireless" S4E2. Craiglang's main scenes are filmed around the Maryhill district of Glasgow, but the programme has filmed all over Glasgow over its 9 series including Queen Street and Central Stations, Buchanan Street, The Hydro and along the Clyde.
